Mushrooms, Cryotherapy & Coming Home to Myself
By Danyy – In Collaboration With Swift Recovery HSV
There’s something sacred about slowing down. Something alchemical about listening—to your body, your intuition, and your healing. Over the past year, my self-care journey has expanded in unexpected ways, led not by trends or fads, but by what actually makes me feel whole. Two things I never imagined would become cornerstones of my wellness?
Mushrooms and cryotherapy.
This is the story of how they helped me come back to myself.
Mushrooms: Nature’s Intelligence in My System

Functional mushrooms aren’t magic in the hallucinogenic sense. But the way they’ve supported my nervous system, my clarity, and my resilience—they feel like a kind of magic to me.
I started small. Lion’s Mane to help with focus. Reishi to help me sleep. Cordyceps when I felt depleted. I didn’t expect much, honestly—I thought I was too stressed out, too far gone. But nature works slowly, and mushrooms don’t push; they nourish. They teach our bodies how to modulate. They taught me that being well doesn’t have to feel like a spike of energy or a crash into rest—it can feel like calm focus, soft strength, and quiet trust in your own body.
Each blend became a ritual. A few capsules with warm water. A deep breath. A quiet reminder: I’m investing in me.
Cryotherapy: Meeting Myself in the Cold
The first time I tried cryotherapy, I remember laughing from the intensity—then instantly feeling like myself again from the release. There’s something poetic about willingly stepping into discomfort and realizing you’re stronger than you think. Cryo, for me, isn’t about “biohacking” or chasing extremes. It’s about clarity. A reset. A boundary between who I was five minutes ago and who I’m becoming.
In that cold, I hear my own heartbeat. I hear my body speak. It says, “You’re here now. You’re alive.”
Cryotherapy
taught me how to sit with intensity instead of avoiding it. To breathe through moments that feel too much. It’s a cold mirror, and in it, I’ve seen the parts of myself I forgot—strength, resilience, grace.

Grace, Stillness & Becoming
This chapter of healing didn’t look like I expected. It didn’t come in the form of a single breakthrough or a perfect routine. It came in the form of mushrooms reminding me to trust slow growth. Cryotherapy helped me release what I no longer needed. My own breath returns to me, softer, yet stronger and more resilient than before.
I no longer seek perfection. I seek presence. I offer myself grace—especially on the days when I forget how far I’ve come.
If you're reading this and feeling the pull to begin, begin gently. You don’t need to know all the answers. You just need to believe that healing is possible—even when it’s quiet, even when it’s cold, even when it’s slow.

Here at Swift Recovery, we believe in deep healing. We believe in modalities that nourish, that invite you back to your own center. Mushrooms. Cryotherapy. PEMF. Breath. Grace.
Wherever you are in your journey, know this: healing isn’t becoming someone new. It’s coming home to who you’ve always been.
